JCM
The JCM is a system to cooperate with developing countries for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, in which the result of reduction is assessed as contribution by both partner countries and Japan.

Concept
Project owner in a Partner Country, is able to introduce leading low-carbon technologies at lower cost, owned & thoroughly managed project facility, contribute to SDGs and promotes ESG.
Asian Gateway Corporation (AG) disseminates specialized know-how for the implementation of JCM and contribute to efficient technology transfer to partner country.

Criteria
JCM Basic Criteria
The Project will
- Reduce energy-related CO2 emissions by using leading low carbon/decarbonizing technologies
- Contribute to achieving Japan’s GHG emission reduction target through the JCM
- Contribute to sustainable development in the partner country
- Comply with the relevant laws and regulations of the partner country
- Comply with the international practices and guidelines regarding enviromental protection
- Monitor the operation and reduction of GHG emissions achieved and the reduction can be quantitatively calculated and verified
- Not receive any other subsidy from the Government of Japan (also any registered JCM project cannot be used for other international climate mitigation mechanism to avoid double counting)
- And the project implemented by an International Consortium that will consist of a Japanese entity (the representative participant) and local in-country partner entity(s)
